365 Days Of Love
Has anyone heard of Jaeson Ma and his 365 days of love? :) It is his year 2010 resolution. I quote Jaeson:
"I want to practice what I preach by doing the following new years resolution and challenge to myself… honestly, I’m a little scared but here it goes…
365 DAYS OF LOVE….
Starting January 1st 2010 I want to live out 365 days of love by putting my love into action. How will I do this? I will attempt to do one act of kindness to someone each day of the year. That is, 365 acts of love for 365 days of the next year. Each day I will post a blog about the random act of kindness that occurred. It can be anything from helping someone out, to listening to someone’s problems, to telling someone how amazing they are, or to do some crazy act of love for a stranger.
I don’t know, I will have to trust that each day will bring before me an opportunity to love. So for Monday-Saturday 6 days a week I will write a text blog. But 1 day a week on Sunday I will post a video blog of an act of love I did that day or week. The hope is that as I step out in faith to love, others can be challenged and encouraged to do the same. So there you have it….
The challenge ~ 365 ACTS OF KINDNESS FOR 365 DAYS OF THE YEAR
The purpose ~ To not just talk about love, but be about love
The goal ~ To live a life of love that will hopefully inspire others to love the same"
Personally, I think that's the GREATEST new year resolution EVER. I mean, my typical ones are the stereotypical 'LOSE WEIGHT' kind and seriously, I've gotten sick of that. Not only beacuse I think resolutions are uselss cos we're too busy to achieve them :/ , I think setting extremely difficult resolutions like losing weight (HAH) are just to 'impress' people. Apparently many people have that mentality. Oh, I wanna lose weight this year. *OOH* *AHH* Come the next next year, they're still having that resolution. And I'm unfortunately one of them.
BUT I'm not THAT bad. I don't tell people my resolutions. So they won't check back with me at the end of the year whether I've achieved that or not. And telling them that I resolute to lose weight, well, they'll get their answer without asking and me answering. Cos it's obvious I've done the complete opposite this whole year. GAIN WEIGHT.
I reckon this whole post is a teeny weeny too long so TO BE CONTINUED. (;
